- Barbara will visit you in the comfort of your own home to help advise you on breastfeeding. Most moms are immobile for the first weeks after a c-section.

What does a home visit entail?
The Lactation Consultation home visits lasts about 1-1.5 hours and includes:
- Assembling a thorough health history about you and your baby
- Listening to your concerns about breastfeeding
- Weighing of baby
- A physical assessment of mom and baby, that focuses on any issues that may affect breastfeeding.
- Observation of a complete feed
- Instruction on latch, positioning, hand expression, electric pump use and milk storage, if needed
- Provision of information regarding breastfeeding issues
- Development of a care plan designed to meet your personal breastfeeding goals.
- Planning of an individual plan that works for mom’s specific needs and lifestyle.
- Follow- up visits and telephonic support.
- A commitment to continue follow-up until your specific needs are met.
Discovery Health Homecare.
Barbara Le Grange is contracted to Discovery Health Homecare.
- Pre-authorized visits for first 6 weeks. (Allowed 3 visits)
- Paid from Maternity benefits.
- Cover all medical aid that are administered by Discovery Health.
Other medical aid visits will be on cash basis. Detailed invoice will be provided to claim.
